High Load Capacity
Conveyor load capacity is often over-looked in the selection of a conveyor. The Portec Belt Power Curve does not use the end roll to drive its conveyor belt. The belt is driven by its outside edge by the belt drive chain. This arrangement is unaffected by changes in loading, tension, temperature, humidity and foreign material getting between the bottom of the belt and the end rolls.
The maximum total load on the Portec belt power curve conveyor is over 500 lbs with bed rolls. The maximum load per linear distance at conveying centerline for the Portec belt power curve conveyor is 150 lbs./ft with double bed rolls. Portec Engineering review and approval would be required for anything heavier.
